We are a Parent Partnership Program where parents of home schooled children and teachers from the Deer Park School District work together to define the educational goals and materials our parents and students use at home. The first session of Home Link started in September 2000 with 38 students. Today, we have over 500 students. We also provide core and supplemental classes at our Deer Park and Clayton campuses.

MEMO - January 2 through 5, 2018

YOU’RE BACK!! As are we...collectively, all in one piece, and with stories to tell! Happy New Year to you dear ones whom we do life with; why, you’re right back where you belong!

As you shift those holiday gears and dig back in, don’t forget:
Registration for second semester classes is next week already. ALREADY! In your mailboxes you’ll find a reminder sheet with some direction of the week’s process.

One of our first semester classes has been working like crazy preparing for their production of Anne of Green Gables. Sharlene Steverding and crew are presenting this theatrical gem next week at Deer Park High School, on Friday, Jan 12, at 1:30 and 7 pm, as well as Sat, Jan 13, at 1:30 and 7 pm. Tkts will be required for Sat night’s 7 pm presentation (pick those tkts up at the front desk). And…COME, oh kindred spirits!!

As you put your home back together into its usual ship-shape form, the Recycle-Reuse class asks if you have any extra or old Christmas cards that you’d be willing to pass on…Connie will collect. Thanks!

Fresh starts- there’s nothing like them! Isn’t that what each new year brings – the promise of change, of newness? Have you ever heard of Thanks-Living jars? It might be the best of all fresh starts: each day, write something that you’re thankful for on a small piece of paper and drop it in a jar. It can be a simple, beautiful thing, or a person, what he/she represents, the goodness the person brings. After a few months, or even a year, the jar can be turned upside down and voila! We behold the blessings we’ve experienced with a new look at the sweet, daily gifts that we take for granted. As Anne with an E might say, “Oh, to breathe in the richness that’s been there all along…do we need a fresh start or fresh eyes?” Indeed! Happy new year to all!
